The workshop on “Heavy Fermion Physics: Perspective and Outlook” will be held at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing during January 7-9, 2012. The workshop aims at bringing together world-leading scientists in heavy fermion research to discuss the perspectives of the field. It provides a forum for communication between top experts around the world and scientists from IOP and elsewhere in China with an interest in heavy fermions. Each expert will devote half of his/her talk to summarizing the emerging trend of the field and providing an outlook for the future. Local experimentalists (covering ARPES, neutron, NMR and optics etc) and theorists will report their research or experimental techniques that may contribute a certain direction of heavy fermion research in the near future. We hope the workshop will foster the growth of the heavy fermion field at IOP in particular and China in general.
